Welcome

It is the goal of the East Troy Geek Squad to bring forth the capabilities of technology and present them in a manageable, clear, and understandable way. We do understand that sometimes it may seem like the confusion, hassle, quirks, and even risks of using technology outweigh the benefits, but we're here to change that.

Extension vs App

The difference between an extension and an app is very easy to distinguish.

Extension:  an extension will look                                       App: an app will have the logo of the app
like a puzzle piece as seen below

The main task of an extension is to be there while you're online.  Extensions are located in the upper right of your browser and you will see their logos to the left of your  wrench.  This is so you can access many things without having to open multiple tabs.  For example, say
you have the Pandora app.  This allows you to be on a web page and while you're on the web page you can click the extension and it will bring down a box where you can like, dislike or skip a song, as well as showing you all of the song info.  You can access all of this without leaving the web page or opening a new tab.

On the other hand apps or made to be interactive.  You get apps to take you to certain web pages, games, and tools.  For example the YouTube app (as seen below) when clicked will just take you to YouTube, but if you click the Bunch app it takes you directly to the game without having to search for it on a game sight.
